Many Thanks to everyone who has patronized Hotel Alice/Alice Cafe for the past over 7 years now! I still find it hard to believe that we have been open that long , but we opened the Cafe' in September 2000. Thanks to our customers we are still here. We have made so many new friends that we never would have met if we had not renovated Hotel Alice and opened this business. I hope if you haven't had lunch with us, or stayed in the Bed and Breakfast that you will visit us soon. This old building is one of the most unique buildings I have ever seen. I sincerely doubt there are very many still around like this one. We call it the bead board capital of the world because the ceilings and walls are all the old timey bead boards, we say there must be miles and miles of bead board in this place. My family and I feel we absoultly did the right thing by saving the old building and thereby perserving a hugh part of Jones County and particularly Ellisville's history. Thanks again to all of you who have supp0rted us in our efforts. Without you there would be no Hotel Alice.

- Welcome to Hotel Alice. We are located in the heart of Ellisville, Mississippi and are excited that you're here! It is our hearts desire that you relax and enjoy the time you spend at Hotel Alice. Take the time to enjoy the uniqueness and character of the "Old Building". In the late 1800's construction began and in 1902 the building was opened as a hotel for the many visitors and workers who frequented the busy little lumber town of Ellisville, the first county seat of Jones County. The hotel was named by its original owner after his daughter, Alice. We felt it fitting to let her keep the only name she'd known for almost 100 years. When we acquired the building in 1999, it was in a sad state of repair, and in danger of being torn down. To preserve her character, we left Alice's imperfections. You will notice cracks in walls, the uneven floors, original windows and skylights, along with many other features which make her unique. Come sit back and let your mind wander back 100 years. If you should hear horses hooves and wagon wheels, children playing in the town square, the humming of the big saws at the sawmill, and the not-so-distant train whistle, you'll be there.
